This is a table top lantern in Andon style of Japan.
The pattern in this lantern is called Rindo ( Japanese for Gentian flower), the Rindo pattern has also been seen in Aristocratic households since at least the Edo period 1615-1868.
This lantern takes close to a week to build, it has over 700 pieces making up the Rindo pattern alone.
A truly western take on a Japanese classic form, this Andon will fit into any decor scheme.
Made from North American hardwoods this piece will transcend the generations.
Washi paper over maple, the panels are removable, the L.E.D. light is set on a aluminum fixture, and is made from U.L. listed parts.
